Can Morning Star Tours help me with my flights?

Yes! We are pleased to assist with flight arrangements! Please contact the Tour Manager at Abby@morningstartours.com.

Can I use frequent flyer miles to purchase my airline ticket?

Yes; however, due to airline contract restrictions, MST cannot purchase these tickets for you. Please see above arrival and departure information.

What is the baggage allowance?

You are allowed one checked bag and one carry-on.  Please note that cabins on the Star Flyer are smaller than hotel rooms and your luggage will need to be stored in your cabin.  The rule of thumb from experienced travelers is to pack lightly.

Baggage restrictions often vary by airline.  It is important to refer to the airline’s international baggage regulations prior to packing, as these can change without notice.

What if I am traveling alone?

A limited number of single occupancy cabins are available in Categories 3-5 and will be assigned on a first-requested, first-reserved basis. Please contact Morning Star Tours regarding availability of single occupancy cabins.

Category 3 Single Occupancy Supplement:  $2,700
Category 4 Single Occupancy Supplement:  $2,600
Category 5 Single Occupancy Supplement:  $2,100

Due to the unique nature of this tour and the limited availability of single occupancy cabins, we are unable to match guests with potential roommates. In order to secure the double occupancy tour cost, we recommend finding a travel companion.

Should I purchase Travel Insurance?

At this time, travel insurance to cover Covid 19-related expenses is required. We also highly recommend coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency assistance, and other unexpected occurrences. Companies vary regarding the length of time to purchase trip insurance to cover pre-existing conditions and/or the “cancel for any reason” feature (example: TravelSafe requires purchasing insurance with 21-days of your deposit date). You are welcome to use any company for trip insurance. The company we have worked most closely with is TravelSafe Insurance, and their plans with pricing can be reviewed on their website. Using this link provided will link your policy to Morning Star (which makes it much easier for us to assist you should a claim be necessary).

What is the payment schedule?

Deposit: $1,500 per person, due with registration
2nd Payment: $2,000 per person, due by August 23, 2021
Balance due by January 20, 2022

If your payment date falls on a weekend or holiday, your payment will be processed on the following business day.

What are the Star Flyer cabin amenities?

Your ship’s accommodations are thoughtfully designed, featuring private bathroom with showers, air conditioning, hair dryers, private safe, television, DVD player, telephone, and other amenities Morning Star Tour travelers have come to expect.

Can I use my phone while aboard the Star Flyer?

There is not a phone available on the Star Flyer.  In the event of an emergency, your family may call Star Clipper’s 24-hour number at 305-773-3541.  A Star Clipper representative will contact the ship to reach you.

Cell phones will not work while at sea; however, if you plan to use your personal cell near or on land, it is important to contact your cellular carrier for international rate plans.

Is there internet access aboard the Star Flyer?

Wireless internet is available on the Star Flyer in common areas, for an additional charge.  There is also one computer available for use in the library.  Please note the internet is slow and tends to improve closer to land.

The hotels in Greece and Turkey offer internet access, but an additional charge may apply.

I get motion sickness. In which area of the ship is it best to reserve my cabin?

Cabins that are lower and centrally located are the best options for guests who experience motion sickness.  The Star Flyer has a deep keel designed to minimize the feel of ship movement.

Is the Star Flyer handicap accessible?

Unfortunately, the ship is not wheelchair accessible and in certain areas of the ship, even a walker can be difficult to use due to steps and narrow hallways.  Additionally, in many ports, tendering is required due to the ship’s deep draft and lower water levels in the harbors we visit.

Are all gratuities included?

Yes! A generous tip to guides, drivers, hotels, and Star Flyer staff, and those serving you at applicable sites is included in your tour cost. We pray that this provision is a blessing and a testimony to those who serve you.

What out-of-pocket expenses should I expect?

Morning Star Tours strives to take the question marks out of the overall trip cost. Your only out-of-pocket expenses may include beverages (both on and off ship), 2 lunches and 1 dinner in Athens, and personal expenses. No shore excursions have been planned on the island of Mykonos.

The Star Flyer operates on a cashless system.  When you board, you will provide a credit card number and expenses will be charged to your cabin.  The ship accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

How much walking will we be doing?

Walking is done in small increments throughout the day and you will have frequent opportunities to rest if needed. To prepare yourself, start walking a little each day. We recommend properly “breaking in” any shoes you plan to wear while touring.

Should I bring my young children on the tour?

Young children may find the pace of the tour to be too rigorous, and may find the time on the tour bus and quiet times of teaching challenging. We recommend that guests be age 16 or above.
