Charlie Dyer

Dr. Charlie Dyer (Th.M. and Ph.D., Dallas Theological Seminary) is professor-at-large of Bible at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and co-host of The Land and the Book radio program. Charlie is an Old Testament scholar and authority on Middle Eastern history and religion who has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, leading more than a hundred trips over the past 40 years.

Charlie is the author of numerous books, including A Voice in the Wilderness, The Christian Traveler’s Guide to the Holy Land, 30 Days in the Land with Jesus30 Days in the Land of the Psalms, What’s Next?The Rise of Babylon, The ISIS Crisis, Clash of Kingdoms, Character Counts, What Does the Bible Say about the Future?, and Experiencing the Land of the Book: A Life-Changing Journey through Israel.

Doug Cecil

Doug grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from the University of Cincinnati (BA, ’74). He served in the Air Force for 6 years prior to attending Dallas Theological Seminary (’80-’84) where he graduated with a ThM (’84) and later with a DMin (’91).

Prior to coming to Christ Chapel in 2006, Doug served at Grace Bible church in Nacogdoches (’84 – ’88) and on the faculty of Dallas Seminary for 18 years (’88 – ’06) as an Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministries. He is a certified chaplain with Healthcare Chaplain’s Ministry Association (HCMA), an adjunct professor at Dallas Seminary, an author and speaker. He is married to Patty (’73) and they have 4 grown children, 5 granddaughters, and two grandsons.

Doug has been traveling with Morning Star for many years.
