  • Sakkara - the necropolis of Memphis and oldest stone building complex in the world, including the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the first limestone structure ever built. Explore its colored tombs over 4,000 years old, and see ancient Hieroglyphics that have been engraved on the walls for thousands of years.
  • Coptic Cairo - site of the old Fortress of Babylon, built at the time of the Romans to protect the country from invading enemies. The walls of the fortress enclose the Church of St. Sergius, built on a crypt considered to be one of the places where Mary, Joseph, and Jesus rested after fleeing Israel and King Herod during their flight to Egypt 2,000 years ago.

A Walk through the Past


Your Day Includes

  • Edfu Temple - this second largest temple in Egypt dedicated to Horus, the falcon god, is considered the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt and reflects traditional pharaonic architecture. It fell into disuse as a religious monument when the Roman Empire banned all non-Christian worship within the Empire in 391 AD.
  • Kom Ombo Temple - a unique Greco-Roman temple dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus the Elder (also called Haroeris), and Sobek, the crocodile god. The ancient Egyptians believed that by honoring the fearsome crocodile as a god, they would be safe from attacks. We will stop at the Crocodile Mummification Museum, where you can see crocodile mummies that are thousands of years old.
