Up to Jerusalem


SITES YOU WILL VISIT
  • Elah Valley - the famous battlefield of David and Goliath
  • Mount of Olives - a hill overlooking Jerusalem from the east where Jesus ascended to heaven
  • Dominus Flevit on Palm Sunday Road a church on the route Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday
  • Garden of Gethsemane - the traditional location where Jesus prayed and was betrayed

Jerusalem in the Time of Christ

  • Western "Wailing" Wall - a section of the Temple Mount foundation dating back to the 2nd Temple Period and the most sacred Jewish site in Jerusalem
  • Rabbinical Tunnel - an underground excavation project which has exposed the full length of the Western Wall
  • Model of Jerusalem a model of Herodian Jerusalem as it looked at the time of Christ
  • Shrine of the Book the home of the Dead Sea Scrolls

Jerusalem, O Jerusalem


SITES YOU WILL VISIT
  • Temple Mount - where the second Jewish Temple once stood, now home of the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque
  • Pool of Bethesda & St. Anne's Church - the pool where Jesus healed an infirmed man
  • Hezekiah's City Wall - wall built by King Hezekiah to prepare for the Assyrian invasion
  • Roman Cardo - the ancient Roman main street through the Old City
  • Southern Temple Steps - part of extensive excavations that have unearthed steps from the time of Jesus leading up to the Temple Mount 
  • City of David Excavations - the original site of King David's capital of Israel, including the Pool of Siloam and Hezekiah's Tunnel
YOUR DAY ALSO INCLUDES

A trek through the historic and amazing tunnel dug by Hezekiah to survive the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem.

Down to the Dead Sea

  • Oasis of Ein Gedi - the waterfall and desert caves where David encountered King Saul

  • Qumran - the desert caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered
  • Dead Sea - a large salt lake in the wilderness and the lowest point on the face of the earth

  • Bethlehem Overlook - the serene hillside of Bethlehem where shepherds tend their flock.
  • Gordon's Calvary & the Garden Tomb - an ancient tomb similar to the one in which Christ was buried
  • The Old City - free time to bargain with shopkeepers, return to a site that held special meaning, or sip Turkish coffee at a sidewalk café

Jordan River Valley


SITES YOU WILL VISIT
  • Wadi Qilt - the wilderness where Jesus was tempted by Satan
  • Jericho Drive-by - a view of the first Canaanite city the Israelites conquered in the Promised Land
  • Jordan River Valley Scenic Drive - a scenic drive through the Jordan River Valley between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea
  • Beth She'an - the ruins of a Roman city and the site near where the Philistines displayed the bodies of King Saul and his sons
  • Spring of Harod - the place where Gideon chose his 300 men for battle
  • Mount Arbel - a vista of the Galilee and sites of Jesus' public ministry

Around the Sea of Galilee


SITES YOU WILL VISIT
  • Sea of Galilee - a freshwater lake in northern Israel where Jesus spent three years ministering and performing miracles
  • Ancient Galilee Boat - a fishing boat dating back to the 1st century, discovered on the shore of the Sea of Galilee
  • Mount of Beatitudes - the traditional place where Christ delivered His message on the Beatitudes
  • Tabgha - the traditional (but highly disputed) place where Christ multiplied the loaves and the fishes 
  • Capernaum - the town and synagogue where Jesus preached during his Galilean ministry
  • Magdala - the hometown of Mary Magdalene and a newly discovered archaeological site
  • Jordan River - the eastern border of Israel and the waters in which John baptized Jesus
YOUR DAY ALSO INCLUDES

Crossing the Sea of Galilee in a replica of a boat from Jesus' time; then, a unique opportunity to be baptized or re-dedicated in the Jordan River.

Nazareth

  • Nazareth - the boyhood hometown of Jesus
  • Nazareth Village - a reenacted first-century Galilean village
  • Megiddo - a strategic city overlooking the gathering place for the armies of Armageddon
  • Mount Carmel - the mountain on which Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal
  • Caesarea - the Roman city where Paul first took the message of the gospel to the Gentiles
  • Caesarea Aqueduct - the ruins of a Roman aqueduct built to supply the ancient city of Caesarea with fresh water

An opportunity to experience life in the first century at Nazareth Village; then, rejoicing and reminiscing over the extraordinary days spent in the land of our Lord at our Farewell Dinner.
