Rick and Emily Efird
Dr. Rick Efird has served in pastoral ministry for over 40 years. He has traveled internationally to train Christian leaders in Europe, South America and Africa … including several trips to Russia. Rick was instrumental in founding Phoenix Seminary in 1988 and presently serves as the Director of Church Partnerships at the school. Rick is a Convene board member and a member of a Convene group in Phoenix. In preparation for ministry, Rick earned a BS in biology from Bryan College, a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary and a D.Min. from Phoenix Seminary. Rick and Emily have been married for over 50 years and have faithfully served Christ together in a variety of ways. Rick’s role as a pastor-teacher is often more visible, but Emily’s ministry to others is profoundly impactful. In addition to her ministry to her family, Emily has taught many Bible studies and led Women’s ministries in their church. Her enthusiastic and sparkly personality uplifts others wherever she goes. As a real estate agent, Emily enjoys serving her clients in ways that go far beyond selling homes. Rick and Emily are thankful for their two loving sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law and two precious grandchildren. The Efirds love international travel. They have hosted several trips to sites of biblical significance in Israel, Jordan, Greece and Turkey. They also enjoy hiking in the Smokey Mountains in east Tennessee and North Carolina where they grew up and exploring the Grand Canyon State where they now live.
